Applications are invited for postdoctoral research fellowship within the Department of Mathematics, University of Oslo. Candidates for this fellowship will be selected in accordance with this and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials. Fellowship includes salary up to 57 – 65 (NOK 473 400 – 548 700 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority). Application should be submitted till 14th February, 2014.
Study Subject (s): Fellowship is provided within the Department of Mathematics at University of Oslo. The present position is attached to the ERC project “Finite Element Exterior Calculus and Applications”. Therefore, applicants with a research interest close to the topics of this project will be preferred, but it is not a requirement that the applicant has detailed knowledge of the special topics of this project.

Scholarship Description: Position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow is available at the Department of Mathematics. The fellowship period is 2 years. Within the framework of the position duties may be assigned. Starting date no later than 1 August, 2014. No one can be appointed for more than one specified period at the same institution. The Department of Mathematics is seeking a Postdoctorial Research Fellow in numerical methods for partial differential equations. The activity at the department in partial differential equations ranges from basic theory to the study of numerical methods for various classes of problems. In particular, there has been a focus on problems related to hyperbolic conservation laws and on the theoretical foundation of compatible discretization methods for partial differential equations.
