Position as postdoctoral research fellow is available at Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy.
The fellowship period is 3 years. Within the framework of the position duties may be assigned. Starting date no later than 01.10.2014. No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution.
Job Description
The position is associated to the Site Del research group and the project: " Development of advanced nanoparticulate drug delivery systems for protective functions of the teeth"
The focus of the project will be formulation, production and characterization of bioadhesive liposome- and polymerbased nanoparticles. The particles potential for protective function towards caries and erosion of the teeth will be investigated.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for supervising master and PhD candidates. The candidate will also be responsible towards some of the instrument at the Department such as equipment for measuring encapsulation efficiency and drug release.
QualificationsThe Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
The candidate must have a PhD or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences.
We are looking for a highly competent candidate with broad experience from formulation of nanoparticles for therapy in the oral cavity with good knowledge about bioadhesion and characterization of nanoparticles with respect to physical-chemical properties and stability.
A major requirement will be documented knowledge with development and production of polysaccharide-based nanoparticles for local drug delivery. Experimental experience with bioadhesion- and drug release studies, and experience with teaching/supervising practical laboratory skills will be an advantage.
Personal suitability will be emphasized and good communicative skills are necessary.
The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.
